Got Me Blind merayakan ulang tahunnya yang ke-8 di Boshe VVIP. Kelompok yang digawangi Richie Petroza (vokal), Dede Nursalam (gitar), Ronald Reagan (gitar), Lord Rommiuss (bass), dan Riko Prihandani (drum), itu menghibur penggemarnya dengan membawakan enam buah lagu, yang sebagian merupakan lagu-lagu baru, seperti Eforia Kala Senja dan Muka Seram Melankolis.
Tahun ini Got Me Blind akan kembali me-metal-kan jagad musik di Jogja melalui album keduanya. “Tahun ini kami akan merilis album kedua. Dari sepuluh lagu, enam di antaranya sudah fix dan sisanya masih finishing,” tukas Richie. Album kedua ini masih dipegang label Off The Records dari Jakarta, yang turut membidani kelahiran album pertama bertajuk Eye For An Eye,” tuturnya. Distribusi album yang secara musikal masih terimbas influence dari Chimaira, Pantera, dan Sepultura, ini nantinya mencakup Malaysia dan Singapura, karena penikmat metal di negeri tetangga itu kian banyak. Tak hanya itu, kelompok yang lagu-lagunya banyak dipakai untuk beberapa film indie (Maya-2004, Mannequin-2004, dan Dungga Melati -2007) itu pun saat ini sedang proses lobi dengan sebuah label Malaysia, untuk membuat kompilasi album dengan band-band metal Malaysia.Acara Malam itu juga dimeriahkan beberapa deretan band jogja seperti Bagaikan, Nervous, dan Fighting Thirteen. Makin banyak musisi dengan genre berbeda mucul. Mereka tak terjebak tren pasar semata, sehingga komunitas musik itu merata dan membuat warna musik Jogja kian fresh dan banyak jenisnya. MARJINAL adalah sebuah group musik band dari sekian banyak gruop band indie di indonesia yang bealiran punk. marjinal yang terinspirasikan atau terinfluncekan oleh sex pistols, bob marley , leo kristi, toy dolls , bad religion ,the crass , benyamin s , dan ramones memulai awal karirnya pada tahun 1997 ketika itu masih menggunakan nama AA ( Anti ABRI ) dan AM (Anti Military ) dalam komunitas undreground. Terbentuk atas dasar kesamaan dalam menyikapi belantika hidup satu sama lainnya , yang berformasikan romi jahat ( vocal) , mike ( gittar ) , bob ( bass ) , steven (drum) , untuk menyampaikan suatu pesan akan suatu penolakan maupun penerimaan dan harapan setelah apa yang dirasa , dilihat , di raba , dan di dengar yang di hadapi sehari -hari .sampai saat ini marjinal yang berkediaman dikota kecil depok telah mengeluarkan 4 album indie label , album 1(1997) & 2(1999 ) masih menggunakan nama AM( Anti Military ) dan di album ke- 3 (2001) bercoverkan sosok buruh perempuan (marsinah) serta di album ke-4(2005) yang terdiri kaset 1& 2 yang menggunakan nama marjinal. sudah beberapa kali di tubuh marjinal mengalami gonta-ganti atau bongkar pasang personil , yang sekarang di perkuat oleh romi jahat (vocal ) , mike ( gitar ) , bob ( bass ) , proph ( drum ) yang kini untuk terus berjalan bersama agar tetap hidup berusaha menyampaikan pesan sebuah amanat penderitaan rakyat yang dituangkan dalam bentuk media musik.

Pertanyaan yang sangat membosankan, tolong ceritakan awal berdirinya band kalian, MARJINAL dan siapa saja tukang protes didalamnya………. Awal kami membentuk band itu pada tahun 1997, dengan bersandang nama ANTI ABRI, dimana secara kebetulan kami anti kekerasan, dan ABRI salah satu kuat membudayakan kekerasan. Kami sering bermain pada event-event bebas. Disaat-saat selalu bersama-sama (dadakan), lantas kami buat ANTI-MILITARY, karena ABRI sudah diganti. Yang album pertama pada tahun 1999, album kedua pada tahun 2000 dengan personil yang selalu berganti-ganti dan kami suka itu. Dan yang terdata, ROMY JAHAT (biduan), CHE MONKEY (ritem), BOB Oi! (bas), STEVE (dram), MIKE (melodi), ACAY LEE (dram), EKAL (vokal), SISI (vokal), ABLEH (ritem), ASEP (vokal) dan ARIEF (dram)…..yang sekarang…..lalu, kami keluarkan MARJINAL. Semua tukang protes.Dulu nama band kalian adalah ANTI-MILITARY, mengapa kalian merubah nama band kalian menjadi MARJINAL, tolong ceritakan latar belakang kalian merubah nama band kalian………. Kebutuhan kami membuat nama MARJINAL dikarenakan masih memiliki hubungan dengan Anti ABRI dan Anti Military….. dan perlu digaris bawahi kami tidak mengganti nama tapi kami membuat dan menggunakan nama MARJINAL sebagai proses titik balik untuk menjawab persoalan-persoalan obyektif. Agar, minimal diketahui oleh khalayak banyak seperti istilah Anti ABRI, Anti Military. Kenapa harus anti dan istilah MARJINAL, siapa itu ‘Marjinal’, bagaimana terjadinya marjinalisasi dan lain-lain. Demikian kawan!
Dalam lirik kalian sebelumnya (Anti-Military), banyak sekali konsep pemikiran budaya perlawanan khususnya Anarkis serta variannya. Tolong ceritakan cara pandang kalian tentang konsep pemikiran tersebut………. Kami lebih memfungsikanAnarkisme dan variannya adalah sebatas referensi, bukannya mengadopsi mentah. Kami lebih mengupayakan melihat, merasa, mendengar dan meraba situasi serta kondisi yang mempengaruhi kami.
Dalam bermusik, tentu kalian lebih mengutamakan lirik. Sejauh mana pandangan kalian tentang konsep lirik tersebut dan bagaimana juga cara kalian dalam merealisasikannya dalam masyarakat………. Sejauh mataku memotret kejadian, sejauh aku mengepakkan sayap dan merambat. Dan sejauh roda gerigi otak-otakku bekerja. Dengan banyak cara dan kami percaya dan yakini ada 1001 macam aksi yang dapat kami lakukan. Adalah sebuah kontradiksi, untuk membantu menciptakan sebuah pemikiran yang notabene masyarakat kita selalu diorientasikan dalam pemikiran yang seragam dan searah. Masyarakat yang berdiri diatas nilai-nilai kemanusiaan, tolong-menolong, si kaya bantu si miskin, kuat bantu lemah, saling menghormati dan menghargai. Kami tidak bisa mendeteksi hal itu, terserah! …..Yakin, karena manusia itu adalah berfikir secara rasional.
Bagaimana pandangan kalian tentang politik dan punk, apakah bisa berjalan/ seimbang, sedangkan secara obyektif punk yang selama ini merupakan Counter-Culture (budaya perlawanan), sekarang ini telah mengalami dekadensi dan pola gerakan mereka yang cenderung berjalan sendiri-sendiri dan bergerak secara elitis. Malahan cenderung menciptakan suatu kontradiksi di dalamnya. Contohnya antara apolitikal dan politikal, bagaimana pandangan kalian dalam hal ini………. Pandangan kami dalam hal ini bahwa politik bisa berjalan seimbang dengan punk, karena punk itu sendiri adalah politik dan politik yang melahirkan punk. Tanpa politik takkan melahirkan punk, dan bila hanya punk hanya itu hanya sebuah kata tidak melahirkan tindakan, karena politik (POLI dan TIK = banyak cara. Pandangan kami dalam kontradiksi di dalam punk adalah sesuatu yang wajar dan kami melihatnya sebagai proses pendewasaan (kontradiksi melahirkan dialektika).
Menanggapi masalah globalisasi yang sudah masuk ke negara-negara dunia ketiga (khususnya Indonesia), yang berbasis pada industrialisasi dan ekonomi secara struktural, cara-cara apakah yang relevan untuk membendung ruang gerak mereka selama ini………. Bentuk sel-sel baru, untuk menggempur lawan dengan syarat terjun ke kantong-kantong masyarakat untuk belajar dan bekerja sama-sama. Yakini tanpa mereka (masyarakat) tidak akan pernah menciptakan perubahan.
Proses reformasi dan demokratisasi yang selama ini diagungkan oleh rakyat Indonesia, tidak berjalan seperti yang mereka impikan. Bagaimana tanggapan kalian dalam hal ini? Dan tatanan masyarakat yang bagaimana yang kalian inginkan………. Ya, jelaslah…..proses reformasi dan demokratisasi hanya menjadi terminologi untuk mengantar sebuah kekuasaan baru. Jadi impian masyarakat mengenai demokrasi hanya sekedar impian tok, jikalau sistem yang masih dikuasai oleh segelintir kaum minoritas. Tatanan masyarakat yang berasakan nilai kemanusiaan. Manusia makhluk yang sosial, manusia makhluk yang berpikir, makhluk yang merdeka, yang bukan gembala dan yang berakal budi pekerti yang tinggi.
Oke, kembali berbicara tentang MARJINAL, terpikir tidak dalam diri kalian untuk bergabung dengan major label dengan tujuan untuk mensosialisasikan ide-ide penikiran kalian dalam jangkauan masyarakat luas dan secara tidak langsung memberikan penyadaran kepada mereka. Contoh seperti RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, CHUMBAWAMBA ataupun IWAN FALS (seperti album lamanya), bagaimana menurut kalian………. Terpikir sih, tapi kami tidak tertarik tuh, dengan disiplinier recording Indonesia khususnya. Biasanya yang menciptakan teman-teman menjadi obyek, berbeda dengan CHUMBAWAMBA, R.A.T.M dan IWAN FALS. Mereka telah memenangkan pasar. Oleh sebab itu, mari kita ciptakan kerjasama yang kuat dilingkungan kita, pada khususnya. Dengan ciptakan masyarakat yang kreatif dan produktif sebagai perlawanan terhadap kapitalisme.
Mendengar kabar bahwa salah satu album kalian, dirilis juga oleh salah satu rekord di Australia. Bisa ceritakan hal itu………. Tepatnya kami tidak tahu rekord tersebut. Tetapi yang kami tahu kaset kami akan dibajak disana oleh sekelompok kawan yang tergabung didalam komunitas sosialis di Australia.
